Our stay at “Our-Farm
Park” was just fantastic – I took the “Conversation English” course for a
week, and I learned a lot more than just English.

At first I was amazed by how the farmhouse was ecology-oriented. Not only
the food was organic, many things were environmentally-friendly there.
Nicholas and Peter used
rainwater (They had some big tanks – used a water purifier for cooking) and
plan to get electricity from a hydo unit driven by a stream. The toilet
paper was 100% recycled paper. Kitchen waste became the food for their
worms.
The lessons were very practical. I enjoyed some discussions with Nicholas
and Peter and I was very impressed by their eagerness to keep learning and
the deep knowledge of various things, especially international affairs.
It definitely gave me the greater view of the world – not only New Zealand
and Japan. It encouraged me to get motivated to start thinking about the
global issues more seriously.

The farm tour on a four-wheel motorbike was really fun. The farm was
enormous and gorgeous – My son Tack and I enjoyed the scenic views, fresh
air and taking a close look to the beautiful stress-free animals.
We begged for taking us on this
tour several times, as we were simply fascinated.

Nicholas and Peter provided us with a very welcomed atmosphere throughout
the stay – even like we were their special friends or members of an extended
family.
I just loved to see Tack
hug and kiss goodnight Nicholas and Peter every night. (And I loved to do it
by myself).
We met some members of their family and they were also so nice and friendly
.
Tack especially loved to play with the charming grandchildren, Meredyth and
Daniel living in next door.

I am thankful that I (and actually Tack too) could learn English in this way
– away from the classroom, in such a beautiful and friendly environment. We
learned it through the real and the warm-hearted communication.
With lots of love
Miwa & Tack

Looking North from the home...

...and west to the Tasman Sea

...
all this native bush has been 'recovered' by Peter & Nicholas over 20
years...

.. of
course they can't really drive the 4-wheeler by themselves...

Tack uses Peter as a horse...
... and the beautiful garden had wonderful flowers, fruit and
vegetables......
