Farm Park activities --tramping/walks--helicopter rides--golfing--petang--lazing--farming activities--home building--conversation--Tv&video--

conversation  Many like to share their ideas with us on an unlimited range of topics. Our guests set the interest areas and we gain the benefit of so many topics we are never bored. We are enthusiastic about Life and the way the World improves, despite setbacks. We have had Guests from Australia, Austria, Canada, China, England, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, NZ, Norway, Philippines, Scotland, Singapore, South Africa, Switzerland, Taiwan, USA and Wales.... and the similarity of positive thinking and individual wants and aspirations is very exciting and uplifting. Language proves no barrier to communication when everyone tries.

lazing  If you just want to laze, there are so many places you can do this close by or in private dells all over.

....and subject to weather and seasonal changes...

feeding the animals  Chickens and ducks and babies too most times, two sheep can be handled, the house cow and calf, the horses... and other animals that can be seen but not touched.

tramping  For Trampers or just those who want to wander, the boundaries of "Our Farm-Park" extend for 5km (just around the boundary)... and provide wonderful walks. You will see lots of native plant areas, pastures, streams, rock pools and waterfalls, steep climbable faces .... wonderful walking areas in total privacy and quietness, wide long distance views of land and sea. The streams are full of kura, shellfish, tiny fish... for looking at, not removing ! Grottoes at night provide glow-worms...

farming activities  Farming activities can be observed or you can try your hand too. We run a special course too -- "Come Farming with Friends" -- for those who are (or might be) considering buying a farm of your own. There is a pattern to base this on but it can be varied to suit individual needs and interests. Many of our students have combined this with "Conversation English" earning a double Certificate on completing their stay.

home building  We are building our unusual home ourselves. We began with a 800 sq ft (72m2) garage and added to it and rebuilt it. We now have over 2500 sq ft (225m2) of internal living designed to utilise weather advantages, free of chemical disadvantages, and able to accommodate a range of activities at the same time. This is a husband and wife effort, though mostly the wife's ! Gender has no bearing on ability in this home. Student assistance is recorded in a warm way here too. This provides a topic of considerable interest. The garden from nothing at all is all an outcome of Nichola(s)' horticultural knowledge and perseverance.

Tv & video  And of course there is Tv and video for those who want it.

Internet access  Available at no charge - get your emails if you want.

Petanque  We also love Petanque which has the benefit of unlimited space.

helicopter rides  We built a helicopter pad when Walter (a Swiss helicopter engineer) was with us learning Conversation English. This is an emergency facility we have provided for the benefit of our rural neighbours. You can have a helicopter ride with a local firm off our helipad -- a very special experience.

golfing  Our special Japanese friend and previous Conversation English student, Kenichiro Iwakiri, returned this year to develop "Golfing with Friends" for people wanting golfing holidays in NZ. He has built a green, and set up the concept of a circuit for 'Farm-Golf' ... for those who want an 'unusual golfing experience' while staying here. ONLY THE "FIRST HOLE" AS YET -- FOR FUN BUT NOT TO TIGER WOODS STANDARD YET !!!
