For
the "conversation English" student at the end of the course, we choose an
entertainment that tests their ability...
German student, Walter
Jentzsch,
was 'tested' by going to an evening of rapid-fire humour .. he reported it was
"fast but highly entertaining "
 |
|
Walter
had a table beside the stage with us,
but everyone had clear views as they filled the tent and ate dinner,
wine, coffees and the great company of their friends. |
This show was called "A bit TOUCHed OF THE IRISH" with saw Gary McCormick and Ginette MacDonald at
their best spliced between four rousing 'Irish'-styled gigs by the husband and
wife Wellington group, "Hobnail Boots". Part of a summer season entertainment at
Ascension Vineyard, Warkworth. Everyone enjoyed themselves hearing this cutting humour
with gags.

Irish gig styled, married couple
from Wellington were "very good", Walter said. |

Assertion Vineyard
provides regular entertainment with meals available to patrons. |
|
Darryl Soljan, Ascension
Vineyard owner, introduced his entertainers with a flair that suggests he
might well join in the entertainment himself... |
.. with
Gary McCormick back yet again as a very well liked personage in Warkworth,
with but Ginette MacDonald of "Lyn of Tawa" fame, but this time brilliantly
well spoken and capable of varied dialectal dexterity.... |
