Maria went canoeing up the Puhoi River

We took our double canoe down to Puhoi Canoe hire on a trailer on the back of the 4Xwheeler (left). Lots of other people had hired the Puhoi Canoe Hire canoes on this wonderful day. Kathleen took all her hire canoes don to the bottom of the Puhoi River so we could all paddle back with the help of the rising tide

 

 Kathleen's husband Cody gave everyone a lesson on using the paddles effectively and keeping from getting too wet.

Everyone wears a life jacket.

This beautiful heron (above left) flew over us and then landed in the river with her blue heron plumage reflecting in the water.
